Not weighed this week. It can get a bit daft standing on the scales daily or every time I've had a good Forest. Ill try at the weekend, see if 225 has arrived yet.

I can certainly relate to that and it becomes somewhat obsessive when I'm trying to lose weight. Weigh-in every morning; sometimes multiple times as things change and those lower values are chased.

I've learned that most digital scales will apparently default to the last displayed value if the current measured value is within a certain range (maybe 0.2-0.3kg, presumably to disguise inaccuracies of measurement) so when looking for small changes am in habit of putting half my weight on the scale to reset it with a wildly different value before re-weighing.

Compared to last Sunday on the weekly mean I'm down a quarter of a kilo; 0.4cm at the chest, 0.3 cm at the waist, 0.5cm at the hips. However, looking at the trends in the daily values the writing's on the wall and things are flattening out - meaning I evidently need to make more of an effort if I want to push lower.

I'm now at a comparable point to last July where similar happened; not sure if this is coincidence or whether I've reached some physiological wall where my body is digging its heels in with regard to further fat loss.

It's potentially interesting how the circumference of my chest and hips now appear to be falling at a rate more in-line with the losses at the waist - presumably because fat typically accumulates at the waist so I suppose beyond a certain point these reserves become depleted and you're increasingly just down to subcutaneous fat that's present in similar levels to other areas. That said there are still conspicuous handles and belly present so there's a way to go yet.

I did rediscover some fat calipers whilst back at the homestead yesterday; which suggested a body fat percentage of around 13-17% (depending on age range and measurement as I was on the edge of both). Assuming the middle value of 15% would suggest I need to lose around 5% more body weight / 3.5kg-ish of fat to hit 10% body fat, which seems like a reasonable goal and would see me at around 68kg.

I've not fasted for a while and would like to do so today as this is always a powerful statement of intent and the visible, transient weight loss is often a good motivator. That said I've not slept well last night and can already feel the pull of the last length of black pudding in the fridge so I suspect this is wishful thinking...

I am spending nearly half of every year on the 2:4 diet. That is 2 weeks pigging out, followed by 4 weeks fasting to relose what I just put back on! That has been the pattern since my sister retired to a cottage in Devon and I started having multiple long holidays down there every year.

The problem is that the cottage is full of things that are extremely tempting and fattening. I avoid buying them up here in Yorkshire because I know that if there are bars of chocolate, cakes, biscuits etc. spread out in front of me when I get back from a bike ride, I am likely to attack them and show no mercy...

I will have to ask her to only buy enough treats for her, my niece, and nephew. I won't steal their goodies so I should be okay if told that none of them have my name on them!

I'm fluctuating in the 92-93Kg ballpark on a daily basis, swinging by as much as +/-1.3Kg. Can only presume it's down to how much I'm drinking in the heatwave and whatever I do on the bike if I actually get out usually a while after dinner.
