There was post on Facebook being shared about how to prevent a hidden phone from alerting. This was to safeguard anyone in a potentially abusive relationship or other similar situation with a secret phone.

I'm gonna say no more as I want to keep the thread NACA free :okay:

On a technical side though I was out of phone signal most of the weekend, campsite I was at had some limited EE but nothing else, and also said if an emergency to come to the house and use the landline. How would that work, would the phone piggy back onto the limited EE network to get the alert or would everyone not on EE miss it?
OK 👌
I'm sure there'll be a lot of analysis off the exercise.. Many didn't get any alerts on the last one, either.

I disabled the alerts on my phone,

I thought this was supposed to override whatever settings we'd all got on our phones. I always have alerts switched off for all apps and so does the wife. No wonder we didn't get it. Come the day the bomb goes off I'll not get my three minute warning. Bugger.

There are app-based notifications and there are emergency alerts. The latter are dealt with in a different setting to the app-based ones.
