I wish it was anyone but button, i can't stand him as a person. Ever since he first came to formula 1 he reminded me of tim henman, cooome on jenson you can do it, bigging it all up saying he can do it. what a waist of space.. stays with the crappy honda team and doesn't get anywhere! "oh yeah we are working on next years car" bull crap!!

but he has had a good season, nothing special imo.. driver of the season has to be vettel!

obviously shagged a girlfriend of yours then. :bravo: six wins, never headed in the title race. ok, he's no ayrton senna, but a worthy winner nonetheless.

well done jenson :bravo:

I know what you mean, I felt the same way until about 8 months ago but isn't that "doesn't get anywhere" attitude kinda discredited by him winning the championship today?

He's a good bloke, I've met him a few times in the paddock at the Bahrain GP. Nice to see him win it, and it was a great race too. Well done to Mark Webber as well, he got a bit overlooked in all the excitement.

Well I think the boy done good. Many people would've gone off the boil long ago faced with a career like his. He didn't, he kept giving it all. I simply didn't think it's possible to win a Formula1 World Championship unless you're an exceptional driver. You have to beat twenty-odd other guys repeatedly and consistently, can't be easy.

Mixed feelings here. He had a vastly superior car at the start of the season and made full use of it. Once the other teams got their act together he fell off the pace dramatically, which, to me, suggests that he was more than a little lucky. However, you don't win a championship without being a decent driver and he put in some belting laps today.

To become F1 World Champion you have to have the best (or second best) team of the season behind you, but even still you have to be one of the best drivers out there.

Brawn did what so many have tried and failed. Win in one of the most expensive sports in the world with (relatively speaking) no money! They all deserve the championship.

Was a great race today today too.

Their premises are on a traffic island in Brackley,Northants - they moved in when honda moved out(!) Luckily they had the use of the impressive looking on site wind tunnel facilities Honda had just finished.

Don't worry Gaz, I am with you. Vettel and Red Bull were my team for the season. They had a much more consistent season than Button who only won because Braun put a different interpretation on the rules than the other teams. When they realised that they had been too conservative in their development they soon pulled back Braun's advantage. Shame it came too late in the year. Great performances my some of the other teams in the last few races - Force India and Kobayashi for Toyota. It is a pity it will all change again next year with yet more rule changes.

I live half a mile from where John & Jenson lived, he has won just about every championship he has entered in karts and single seaters. Truly proud of him being British. I must say there are some unpatriotic people on here.

Just goes to show that a driver in the right team and car will win. Lewis Hamilton, Raikonen and Olonso are also world champions. If the tables were reversed had JB been in either of their cars then he may well have not won the Championship or would any of the above have won it in JB's car? Maybe, maybe not. Well Hamilton certainly would have won again. He has had a terrible season. But good on JB for winning it this year. He might find it a whole lot tougher next year.
