Yes making a mistake then swearing at you was ignorant and rude but I hardly feel that you lot can take the moral high ground after most of the comments that you've made have been about her size rather than her inability to drive considerately. Even if it is supposed to be banter it comes across as nasty and small minded, and rather off-putting to those that may have strayed into "commuting" from happier places!

When I was big and lardy I was often the subject of ridicule due to my size. Now that I have lost weight, got fitter and tougher I'm not subjected to it any more but hearing it doesn't piss me off any less.

People I know wouldn't use it as a term of abuse when I was around but now that I'm not in 4XL clothing some of them do talk about others being 'fat bastards' or whatever and it makes me wonder; did they think that of me, even deep down? I still find the remarks cutting if I hear them even if they are no longer being aimed at me.

Ok, the individual in the video was an inconsiderate driver and an abusive individual. But for arguements sake if the driver looked like an overt homosexual would you make comments about them being a faggot etc.? Because to me it is the same.

I find a lot of people resort to rudeness when they make a mistake or are embarrassed. I’m sure it’s linked to low self esteem, poor education and/or immaturity. She knows she cocked up the junction and her way of coping with it is to give you the finger. I know that doesn’t make it right, but I feel rather sorry for her tbh.

Physcho babble? Lol – i just expect slightly more intelligent comment/humour on what is usually a fairly intelligent, sharp and witty forum. There are a lot of posts on this thread that are simply base and reminiscent of playground bullies all ganging up on the fat kid. Is this the way you people behave in public? My partner put on a load of weight after the birth of our child after a couple of months of comments about "fat bird on a bike" from both motorists and cyclists. She put the bike in the shed and took up aerobics she has vowed to never get on a bike again.hence one more car on the road. I have noticed the behaviour in forums can be very similar to car drivers the anonymity and insularity makes us a little less civilised. most of us in real life are not this rude about people. Most car drivers when they are outside their car the same. this thread has pulled me up short. I am going to try not to behave on the internet the same way that some car drivers behave when they get in their cars. By the way if it was any of you lot who used to insult my partner as you sailed past her on the cycle lanes. I would like to thank you for losing me a cycle partner
