China always gets a bad knock for things made there. But a lot of what comes from China is good quality. Case in point. I have a Fender Tele guitar from China.
Indeed. The beauty of Chinese subcontracted manufacturing from the point of view of Western suppliers is that China can deliver whatever quality is required, for the appropriate price. That includes top quality, and Chinese manufacturing should not be denigrated based on Western suppliers who specify and resell the lowest quality.

Chinese manufacturing should be denigrated for a lack of statistical quality control and worker abuse. Just because you can fulfill a contact because you work your people under poor and unsafe conditions doesn't mean you are competing on a level playing field. American and British workers shouldn't have to compete with people violating international worker standards. They were put in place for a reason, and they should be enforced. All of this only fuels the Chinese State with international currency, allowing them to project their power and influence throughout South Asia, Australia, Africa, and even Europe. Wal*Mart and Disney and Dell are complicit in this.

Part of the problem here is that some American's have that big head attitude, and the fact that many are upset about outsourcing. But that's not the fault of countries like China etc. If people took the time to check out what China is doing with technological advancements these days, they would be shocked, to say the least.

I agree. Unfortunately, their workers are put under a lot of duress because of companies like Apple, for example, who have been accused of abusing Chinese workers, especially when it comes to standing for hours on end. I have no problem with Chinese imports, but I do have a serious problem with companies from here taking advantage of workers so as to fill their ever increasing greed for profit. What's fair for workers here, should also be fair for workers there. I'm making reference to companies from where I live, not Chinese companies that abuse their own workers.
