And very nice it is of you to do so.

Shame your elected government promised those pensions to the people that work for them and have worked for them for many years.

Naturally I wouldn't want you to break a promise

My sympathy for you is growing ;)

No one wants to come and see me at work in the morning so I'll be off trying to get up Riber hill in one piece then work in afternoon.

I wish I got paid £150 a day ;)

Isn't it funny how the MPs aren't seeing their pensions cut, despite also being public sector workers? I heard something about them also wanting to start claiming their mortgage payments through expenses again although I'm not sure how true this is. I wouldn't put anything past them though.

Nope, I've decided ... going out for a 30 miler, then gonna stay in and just do very little; maybe a snooze after, but that wastes time whilst home alone; think actually I may be a bit self indulgent after the ride and have two large slices of Davidstow Cornish Crackler cheese and half a dozen of my own home made balsamic and garlic pickled onions with a couple of cloves of home-made pickled garlic with a slice of gluten and wheat free toast; again, from the bread-maker, with a nice glass of mulled wine (warmed) oh, home-made, orrrrr, if not cold a nice glass of 15 year old Port. Then a quick coffee as opposed to fresh, Nescafe Black Gold .... then, a shower enjoying the benefit of the new Salamander shower pump I fitted this week; change of clothes, and see what is appening on this tinternet thing.

I'll be working - I have assessments to run and can't let my students down. I also can't afford to go on strike as pay is actually being reduced (max. pay rise = 1%, inflation = 5%) with no chance of advance/promotion. Added to that I now face the prospect of teaching sport science/coaching/exercise instruction at the grand old age of 68! Lets hope cycling keeps me fit eh LOL.

I'll be getting measured up for a new bike after finishing the job list that my wife has given me.

I'll also be exploring some CSS features that I want to use in a future school based web site. I can justify it as its skill development rather than school work.

Like TVC I will be slaving away in the private sector, fingers to the bone, nose to the grindstone etc etc

No index linked pension for me, .....um? no pension actually. My much better half on the other hand will be waving the flags and marching on the town hall or wherever.

So a foot in both camps. Nicely on the fence as it were.

Like Colly I have a foot in both camps. Wife in the public sector. I am in the private sector, working hard and long hours and my income has dropped by about 30% in the last couple of years and that's before you start adding in inflation. I can't afford a private pension, so whilst it's not right to break promises my view tends towards the unsympathetic I'm afraid.

I'm actually in both camps too. Private for me, public for wife.
I don't blame either of the present camps for their stance. It's an issue that was been foreseeable and a very long time in the making.
