New greenhouse arrived this afternoon, only 3 weeks late, from a joiner about half a kilometer away. Thankfully he's included a whole bunch of things that I thought I'd have to source myself, like silicone, panel pins, hardware, etc..

So I've now got about a week of varnishing and assembly ahead of me, followed by some frantic horticultural catchup.

Just relieved that it arrived at all.

Fortunately both Mrs kes and I have jobs where we can work from home just as effectively as we can from the office. Means we have no worries about taking time off, or losing income.

Think others who can't do this are going to find things getting increasingly difficult over the next few weeks.

I don't drink shorts other than Sloe gin in prosecco. Soooo pretentious
Actually I think we have some elderflower and some rhubarb & ginger gin type concoctions lurking about somewhere. Scratch the whisky, bring prosecco...

I've got a drop of Single Malt

My often repeated advice in times like these is Laphroig 10yo. I stand by it.

I’m sure you posted this very the very best of intentions, however IMO it comes across as a little bit insensitive especially when other members of this forum are not quite as fortunate as you and your wife.

I haven't got any virus symptoms - and in any case I don't go round sneezing and coughing all over other people, so no-one is going to be catching it from me anyway.

I am a part of society, which is why I intend to continue to go out and socialise as normal. If you want to lock yourself away for a few weeks or months, go ahead and enjoy. Just don't expect me to do it because it ain't gonna happen. Everyone I socialise with is of exactly the same mindset - none of us are going to stop our usual routines and sit indoors. The pensioners I know are actually the most indignant out of us all at any suggestion they should isolate themselves.
I’ll pass your post onto those NHS workers that I’m currently working with, who are on the frontline trying to help the patients being brought into wards in ever increasing numbers on a daily basis. I’m sure they’ll be so pleased to see them. Selfish doesn’t even come close to what I want to say to you, but other polite people on here will mean I refrain from calling you anything worse. And you’re blocked.
