Isvik by Hammond Innes at the moment, it is taking rather a long time to build up to something but is readable.

I've read a lot of Innes - some are brilliant beyond belief, some were terrible. I have a copy of Isvik but haven't got round to it yet.

Currently reading Frankenstein.

Is that a method of determining white womens' ages?
If they ride a new lightweight bike is it carbon dating?

I have just read the"Lantern Rouge" by Max Leonard. A funny, sometimes tragic story of the lengths riders have gone to to become last in the TDF. A good read .

I am reading Affinity Bridge by George Mann, which is a steampunk book. Dostoevsky it is not, but I am enjoying it.
Also reading North and South by Mrs Gaskell.

Currently reading Adventures in Caravanastan: a journey around Australia by a couple and their infant son. Good reading, although a little too much 'doting father' stuff for my liking.

Foto -Photography and Modernity in Central Europe 1918-45. An excellent mix of well known and less well known pictures...my favourite is the poignant image by Roman Vishniac of a shadowy figure walking along a snowy street in a Jewish ghetto somewhere in Eastern Europe in the 1930s.
