Actually, I don't do much celeb gossip either. The only reason that Clive Owen stuck in my mind is that I remember overhearing him tell someone in the Albany that he was going to drama college and hoped to make it big one day, and some time later spotting him on TV and thinking "Flipping heck, that's Clive Owen, that is - he did make it!"

I used to frequent The Albany in about .... late seventies, :scratch:and am trying to remember Clive Owen.

It's a spookily small world isn't it! We know, but most people here wouldn't, that you went to the same school as some of the girls I knew and at the same time, just across the park from my school!

Clive Owen went to drama school in 1984 aged 20, so it's probably just after your time, unless you were hanging about in that pub as long as I was! You certainly would have been in there at the same time as the Automatics/Specials.

Talking of small worlds - I was chatting to dave r on one of my Midland forum rides last year and we realised that he worked as temp in the same small factory as me for a short time. We would definitely have spoken to each other because we always used to say hello to the new faces. We can't remember each other from then though.

Clive Owen sticks in my mind as he's one of those actors that can make sure I don't tune into something. Maybe it was the drama teaching of the era but there's a few of them that over act as a matter of course.
