Apocalypse Now. :bravo:

Love the campag on my roadie, the shimano on my tourer and the sram on my mtbs. The scariest thing about campag is that I can't reach the levers when on the drops. So I need to sort that one out. The best STI levers for small hands are Sora, by the way.

Maybe I need to look again at the positioning of my Sora, I've found the exact opposite. They're fine on the hoods, apart from the inside of my right hand between the thumb and finger gets really iritated but on the drops I can't reach the thumb shifters at all.

I'm italian and I use a Chorus, though..... I vote for shimano. Only because of the fact that I've lost 2 sprints, this year, for the f*****g thing that if you're a bit nervous when shifting down the gears and you press the campy lever with too much strength.... you'll go down by 2 or 3 sprockets (for instance 15->12) and this will slow you down in your progression -> sprint losing. With sushi this thing doesn't happen.....i.e. because it's "sequencial". Ok, I recognize, though, that it's a very specialistic application.... campy looks cooler with its carbon levers  ;)

Good point, I also use Chorus, but for me, there is no other!

No, nor can I on Sora - I don't think you're supposed to be able to reach them on Sora (though I can on my Campag ones) - I think Kirstie menas they are good for small hands as you can adjust the brake levers so the reach is reduced.

Oh. Are you supposed to be able to reach the thumb shifters from the drops? I'll never be able to do that in a million years.

I was just talking about being able to reach everything properly from the hoods, which is easier on sora than it is on centaur. Centaur isn't impossible though.

We cross posted, but I thought you meant that - otherwise you'd surely have to have some strange mutant thumb

Maybe if you ride long enough your thumbs evolve to be able to reach...

Barnet,
I voted for campag. But, I also run 105 on my Audax and touring bike. I just like the look of Campag stuff better than Shimano. They both work very well. You pays your money and takes your choice.

You know, I do have a mutant thumb...but it doesn't go in that direction. Perhaps I could get them 'surgically enhanced'.
