Rock n Roll Blue. Unfortunately I think they may be stopping selling it (in this country at least) but thankfully I've still got a decent supply.

Many years ago I just used to use WD40. It seemed to do the job at the time. But then you read stuff on forums and the like which say you shouldn't use this or that but instead use this, that and the other.

So the WD40 went and I started using Muc Off wet and dry, which of course are more expensive, and to my eye don't seem to do anything drastically better than other stuff I've used.

I find that you tend to go with the crowd believing that they are in the know so what they're doing must be right.

Before I started using things like Fenwicks foaming chain cleaner or Peatys foaming drive train cleaner. I used WD 40 as the final thing to clean my chain after washing it.

Many of us clean our drivetrains after every ride, or every other ride, depending on ride conditions.

So, even though WD40 has minimal lubricating qualities, if you're cleaning and reapplying it every ride then maybe it does have a place, and isn't as bad as some make out. Can it do a good job for just the duration of a typical 2-5 hour ride? Maybe.

However, those who clean their drivetrain just once in a while, then WD40 probably has no value at all.

Saying that though I doubt I'll ever go back to WD40, simply because of the negative vibes around it.

Why do you need to clean your chain after every ride. Yes if it’s been pissing down but if it’s dry🤷🏼‍♂️I think I’ve cleanEd my bike about 4 or 5 times since March this year. That’s on doing over 2,000 miles.

That's what the pros do innit, well, the mechanics anyhow. It's the nearest I'm gonna get to being like a pro, lol.

Maybe i'm a bit OCD about it. Probably totally unnecessary but I like cleaning my bike.

A properly waxed chain, or properly squirted one will easily cover 1,000 kms in most conditions, except heavy rain. They don't attact and hold onto dirt like wet lube does.
My last chain lasted over 14,000 kms using squirt properly applied.
Recently waxedc chain lasted 1,300 kms before needing anything
