Here's how to do it properly:
Don't be ashamed. I was embarrassed to admit I used the pedestrian route around a ford on an audax, until I found several riders slipped and got a soaking. Then I felt very wise.In the end I carried my bike and crawled through the dense undergrowth at the side of the road.
Hang on.... that wasn't an option. Through, imples you went through it not around it. I call foul.In the end I carried my bike and crawled through the dense undergrowth at the side of the road.

Indeed! (The water was much deeper than shown on Street View when I tried riding through.)Road puddles are usually benign, but fords can often be horribly greasy, with wheel-traps.
Yep that’s my technique, but not sure @Rickshaw Phil agrees with meLegs in the air screaming WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE jobbie that.
I have been known to do that as well.Yep that’s my technique, but not sure @Rickshaw Phil agrees with me
