Last night upon perusing my dvd collection, a film jumped out at me which I decided to watch.
The film follows 3 friends who undertake the task of trying to solve and in turn prevent the murder of one of them.
Being a "who done it", the film also delves into the concept of time, travel, parent hood and morality. There's a lot for a 90 minute film.
I will hold my hands up, I've not researched into whether this was an adaptation from a Shakespearean piece...

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages...ideally over 15 as per it's certification, I give to you...

Source Code. I'd seen it before but forgotten the details. A very good watch, and watching it for the second time made me understand it less; it's quite complicated to get your head around if you think about it scientifically, but as a sci-fi movie you don't really have to I guess.

Foameo and Juliet or Jacuzzius Caesar?

Haven't seen the sequel, but HTTM (one) is an amazing film - about a zillion times better than the title promised!

(online reviews do suggest that the sequel is a pale imitation ... )

First one is miles better but second is definitely worth a watch. You do miss John Cusack, but Adam Scott is a good addition.

If you've got 90 minutes to spare, I'd recommend it.

Race for Glory

A drama film based around the battle between Audi with their quatro driven by Hannu Mikola and underdogs Lancia and their driver Walter Rhol. It's in a similar vein to Rush (Lauda vs James Hunt) or Ford vs Ferrari ( Matt Damon and Christian Bale and the GT40 at Le Mans)

I rather enjoyed it, primarily as the people came across as rather more real than the two Holywood movies mentioned and also because I am more interested in rallying. In comparison Ford vs Ferrari is much more cheesy and cliched in storytelling and dialogue even thought it's still very entertaining.

Quite an arty film in some ways, and if you aren't familiar with the story and rallying you do have to pay a bit more attention. Another aspect I liked was they didn't do the Holywood cliche of changing gear as if it's something you do at a crucial moment for dramatic effect rather than a normal part of driving ! I think Americans are awed by changing gear in any case.

Not without criticism in that the people and narrative are a bit less engaging than the two more mainstream movies mentioned, and it is perhaps a little disjointed but it is superior in many ways too.

Couple of the "gamesmanship" incidents portrayed I have heard before so it did ring true

Anyhow, recommended if you like that sort of thing

Captain America: Brave New World. 4/10

The only thing brave is how they made this movie so dull. I was excited by the trailers, but having watched it, I wish I hadn't. There are 2 or 3 action scenes that were good. The rest was just boring filler
