Prequal or sequel would be great, if done correctly, maybe telling the story of how a pack of werewolves came to be in that remote Scottish area.
We have many films telling varying origin stories of how Dracula came to be, but not many, if any regarding lycans. Can't remember if this addressed in one of the Underworld films.

Like a sort of -

Where wolves?

There wolves.

- kind of film?

Greatest film that never got a sequel, a prequel of Sean Pertwee's squad going in first might be even better.

Absolutely not (for me anyway). The mystery is one of the things that makes it so effective.

Last night I watched a film that followed a couple of scientists who end up in another worldly place and soon encounter an animal though to be extinct for many millions of years, namely a t-rex!
The plot unravels where the scientists must find a way home (while not being gobbled up by the big ol' dino) but in a twist get roped in to saving an imprisoned creature / humanoid who, thankfully for the audience, speaks perfect English.
There are twists and turns along the way, and some good humour to boot, although there is no consumption of a guy hiding on the toilet by the t-rex in the one.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Sleestaks of all ages, I give to you...

Puzzle game procrastinator!
The Racer (Coureur) on Amazon Prime. An uncompromisingly grim account of a young Belgian rider trying to turn pro in Italy. Graphic performance enhancing drug taking scenes galore...

I was thinking that it rang true and then I discovered that the filmmaker based it on his own experiences!

NB If you are sensitive to flashing lights be warned - there are clubbing scenes in the last few minutes with intense strobe lighting.

A Working Man.

Pretty much standard The Stath fare although even more so at times. I really like him but he does need to do a bit more. He's getting dangerously close to Seagal straight to VHS territory.

The Salt Path

A rare visit to the picture house for me, and as it was a wet Thursday afternoon there was only the 2 of us in the viewing lol.

Great film about a couples journey in the immediate aftermath of a terminal illness diagnosis, and becoming homeless. Cinematography is amazing as we take the South West Path known as The Salt Path.

If you don't know the story, as it's based on a book, don't look it up and just enjoy the journey.

9/10

We went to see that last night.
Initially I was getting bored but then I realised that I had to adjust myself to the pace of the film. It certainly makes you understand the isolation of the journey and the time it took.

Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs are brilliant as the husband and wife.

However I came away feeling it was a story that could have been better told, more dramatic, and not so pedestrian.

Sound quality was bad too and I struggled to hear a lot of the dialogue, especially the scenes in the tent where they mumbled.

Just a 6/10 from me.

Lilo & Stitch - 7/10

Hadn't seen the animated one but thoroughly enjoyed the live action version. Good mix of humour and wholesomeness, and I'm glad it wasn't lumbered with a tedious backstory about why the parents weren't around.

Viewing partners verdicts were "Better than the animation, Lilo had an annoying voice", Charly aged 37 & 3/4 and "I liked them both the same", Evelyn aged 9 & 1/3.

Just come out of the cinema with Jnr to see Ballerina.
From the John Wick universe, It's John Wick, but as a woman playing the John Wick role with John Wick appearing being John Wick.
If you like the francise then you'll love this. I certainly did.
Don't even try to do a body count. 😆
Senseless, mindless, bloody nonsense. But thoroughly enjoyable senseless, bloody nonsense.

I watched Expend4bles last night on Netflix.
More of the same, if you like the other films in the series you'll like this also.

Think like you I'm starting to get a little bored of the Stath now, maybe I'm growing up 🤣

Warfare - 9/10

One of the best war films I've seen in some time. I'd wanted to see it at the cinema which I think would be pretty incredible given the sound design. It's tense, claustrophobic and absolutely relentless so not a minute of the 90 feels wasted.

A very effective and thought provoking bit of film making.

Saving Private Ryan

As its been the D- Day aniversary recently I watched this again, what can I say it's one of the finest films of all time. Something I read afterwards was the landing we see on the beach is actually the second wave of attacks, they did this on purpose so that we didn't see them attacking an empty beach.

have to agree one of the greatest war films of all time.
