More memorable than the second film (and it may have helped if I could have remembered it).

A sort of big budget Wayward Pines but with lots stunts and explosions

A true story and simply unbelievable, what an absolute monster. But how in heavens name did this go on for so long?

Ariel Castro was charged with 512 counts of kidnapping, 446 counts of rape and two counts of aggravated murder in the death of Knight's unborn baby. He committed suicide one month into his prison sentence, on September 3, 2013.

Bohemian Rhapsody, saw this yesterday and it's excellent. 9/10

Once Upon A Deadpool - a "Christmas special" on very limited release. Seriously don't bother if you've already seen Deadpool 2 as it's simply that edited a bit and with some moderately funny extra bits with Fred Savage shoehorned in. 2/10.

The Bishops Wife (1947 Cary Grant, Loretta Young, David Niven). It's in the public domain so you can download it. I wanted to watch it as supposedly it's one of the best Christmas movies*.

Mmmm bit a struggle rating it. On one hand it kept me entertained, but on the other, I found it hypocritical and a questionable story line -and the lead female character was a prime role model for shallow-mindless-simpletoness who was easily entertained and flattered (to be fair, definitely a product of the age when this was made).

5/10. But it was free!

*IMHO I'd say stick with "A Christmas Story", "It's A Wonderful Life", "Diehard" or "National Lampoons Christmas Vacation"

Ah, Die Hard.

A Christmas Classic, and Christmas can not officially begin until Hans Gruber has fallen from the Nakatomi Tower.

But ive some issues. The weapons used by the bad guys are carried at high port - a negligent discharge risks a round in someone's face, so this isnt done any more and it ages the film terribly.

Willis is a Southpaw, yet carries a standard Beretta M9, a powerful pistol with the ejection port on the right to give him a face full of hot brass.

Willis uses a sort or combat/isosceles stance hybrid, when at the time most US law enforcement were still using Weaver (which I prefer).

And the MP5 and the never ending magazines. A cyclic rate of 650 rounds a minute is almost 11 or second, or an empty chamber in less than 3 seconds. But the Tangos are squirting lead everywhere and going an age before reloading.

A great film that should have manly men chomping at the bit, but too deeply technically flawed to ge a classic.

I finally got round to watching Scott Pilgrim Vs The World... and whilst watching it, I couldn't help but think of Sucker Punch. One is a puerile fantasy with some spectacular fight scenes being the only saving grace for a dire script. The other is a decent script that's frequently tarnished by puerile fight scenes. I enjoyed it much less than I'd hoped.

Cop Land.

I never pass up an opportunity to watch this gem. A glittering cast of superb actors. DeNiro, Keitel, Liotta, but its Stallone who steals the show and puts even DeNiro in the shade with the dramatic performance of his career as the bumbling Sheriff who is slowly awakening to the nastiness happening under his nose.

Combined with a tense plot that gathers momentum to a breathtaking ending, and this film is a genuine, much overlooked gem.

9/10.

The Foreigner, with Jackie Chan. Had no idea what I was watching, never heard of the film and have just subscribed to netflix so thought give it a go. Interested in Irish/IRA stuff so clicked on this - thoroughly enjoyed it, was a real surprise but very impressed :-)
