Shoplifters, a film written, directed, and edited quite beautifully by Hirokazu Kore-eda. It's thoughtful, thought-provoking, tragic, and funny, and it plays with your allegiances and sympathies from the opening shot. Japanese, with subtitles, which shouldn't put people off from giving it a look.

Oh, I'm going to see that tonight.

Ghostbusters 2 later, ill see if i can stay awake.
Hope for your sake you fell asleep. Watched this with wife & munchkin major, back from college today. What a load of unspeakable dross. Just, brainless. Terrible script, no plot whatsoever, bucketloads of CGI, utterly gormless. Not even so bad it's kind of endearing...just, awful. No redeeming features whatsoever. The worst film I've seen all year, quite probably all millennium.

Aquaman - this has had very mixed reviews, so i wasn't expecting much but it's really rather good.
Better than Justice League, if not quite as good as Wonder Woman from the DC series and better than anything from the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a long time.

And it's stunning to watch - the CGI is spectacular, especially the underwater cities. Normally no matter how big the budget there are always a few ropey CGI moments (MCU series, I'm looking at you), but I didn't notice any in this and it's supported by a stonking soundtrack.

8/10
