Meh... (with hindsight, not sure if it's a movie or a 3 part mini )

I love Sci fi and will often wade through poor acting in the hope of a good storyline. About half way through....I'm still waiting.
German I think, poorly and predictably dubbed I to English, why do dubbed movies all sound the same, wierd voices and mood conveying, it's nearly always quite amateurish..

Probably don't bother....although I will persevere tonight to finish it off...or me.

That's why you usually have the option of leaving the dialogue in the original language and reading subtitles instead!

I would never choose an overdubbed version.

The Foreigner.
Jackie Chan, Pierce Brosnan.
I read the book The Chinaman years ago and this is a decent adaption. Complicated N Irish politics, rogue cells, scheming Brits and Jackie Chan knowing more about hunting men than any Vietnamese restaraunt owner/ former VC and US/SF agent ought to know.

EXPEND4BLES Free on Amazon Prime. All the usual cast n stuff.
IMDB gives it 4.8 , it ain’t as good as that. I think they spent all the budget on the cast.

Late Night With the Devil.
Been looking forward to seeing this and it didn't disappoint !
David Dastmalchian is class as the desperate talk show host.Definitely worth a watch,a clever mix of showbiz satire and 70s horror.
Loved it.

Appalling?

I watched Ballerina on Netflix. An ultra-violent Korean action thriller...
with disturbing nastiness towards women, only made tolerable by the heroine inflicting savage justice on every man involved!!

Appalling (tv this weekend), damn autocorrect...

That's worth knowing - I read The Chinaman years ago and didn't know this was an adaptation. Thanks.

Gerald's Game - 9/10

Genuinely chilling psychological horror directed by Mike Flanagan, adapted from a Stephen King story. It wouldn't have worked if the acting wasn't so strong, but it's incredible.

A lot of King's work has been adapted, and this is up there with the best of them.
