I just bought my second Castelli Gabba Jersey. The first is still going strong, but this was a great bargain and a different colour. There is a reason so many people love them.

I recently got a Castelli Prefetto (roughly speaking a long sleeved Gabba) and it's brilliant, actually combines the best features of a thermal jersey and a waterproof-ish jacket. Even reduced to £84 from £140 it's nearly twice asuch as anything else I wear. Yet definitely worth it.

I have the Perfetto Light short sleeve as my warmer damp weather jersey - I am also a huge fan.

Neck warmer. Wasn't sure if I would like it or not so got a cheap one from Decathlon. Worked pretty well so will stick with for future cold spells.

Bib tights. Equally wasn't sure about the bib element but have actually grown to like them as well. I found they were good for protecting the lower back against the cold when stretched out on the drops. Again started with a pair from Decathlon.

My boss got himself a new e-bike and I've admired it from afar. I decided to chance my arm & ask if I could get a shot of it. He allowed me to take it home that day & bring it in the next morning. Excellent! Well, I've never tried an e-bike before and it was a revelation to me. My cycle home is only 8km but that day it was 32km. It's that easy.

Anyway, I took the bike back to him the next day (after discovering a new exciting route on gravel to my work - 14km). He asked what I thought of it and when I told him I loved it he said "That's excellent. Keep it. Make sure it's maintained well and avaiable for me when I'm in the country". So I had the bike for 10 days before he came back into France for a couple of days. Now I've got it for the next 23 days.

So it's not exactly "gear" but it's new to me & I bloody love it.

Oh I know, I take two locks all the time now but even so I won't let it out of my sight. This bike is actually a replacement for his previous bike which was actually stolen from his house last year. The real downside I guess is that this bike seems to use a lot of different fittings compared to what I'm used to. For instance, I'm not entirely sure how to even get the front wheel off.

I have adjusted his headset properly now - it was loose when I picked up the bike - and I've done some maintenance to the rear disc brake which was rubbing now & again. I bought a shock pump too because it felt a bit soft for me. I'm pretty much the same height, weight & build as the boss so I figure if I can dial it in for me it'll not take much tweaking to make it perfect for him. To be fair I think I got it a bit wrong though because it was very *chattery* on the way to work this morning. However I think I'm sensing some movement in the rear axle, although it might be the rear suspension. This is my first-time on a full-suspension bike too btw.
