Same gig - Divine Comedy in Kingston. My first time to that venue - really good overall, a bit sweaty tonight!

Was expecting a short set, didn’t realise it would be an hour slot though - for some reason I was thinking 90mins.

Loved the old favourites. Not so much the new stuff - listened to the album this morning, seems like the Neil Hannon equivalent of Lou Reed’s Berlin. Maybe it will grow on me.

It’s great to be able to see such a good set of musicians in a small venue, sound quality was superb, overall experience very enjoyable.

They've only played In Pursuit of Happiness a couple of times in the last 20 years, what a superb opener. Hope that's in the October set list. An hour is pretty decent down there, some do a bit less - but you only pay £20 (and no travel costs for me!)

The new album is pretty downbeat, but there's enough good stuff on there. Bit weird to have a Christmas song in the middle.

Had the fun of depping for a friend in Anything Goes last night, having the fun of playing my 1934 Olds Super in such a brilliant show written the very same year.

Saw Richard Hawley on Weston Super Mare pier last night. Not an actual gig venue , they just shifted all the slot machines etc out and put a stage in. Odd.
Music was sublime though.

The Divine Comedy again, at the Barbican.

Only been there a couple of times, and both times wondered whether there actually is an entrance that makes sense.

Good show, sound quality wasn't perfect though which surprised me for a venue like that. Very different vibe when everyone is sitting down too

Lancaster's 'not the music festival' music festival... Not been running around too much this year but saw a few local acts; Chimps of the Future...spacy,rocky,silly.
Eoin Feely... One man band looping a harp and a guitar.
Mama Parker & the Rosettes... Blues covers with a good gravely voice.

Usually I see about 30 acts over the weekend... But been taking it easy in anticipation of my hernia op today.
