Right, I've changed one of the fish and will do the other later. In the mean time, after getting ready, I'll post a model to a kid down south to whom I sold the model especially cheaply so that he could afford it (the average price is only about £30, and I sold it for £18, but I'm not fussed anyway).

It is the Herpa 1:200 model the Pan Am 747-100 Clipper Sovereign Of The Seas (I think). A large plastic model just if you are wondering.

MDB: how many days can I leave my pal's goldfish (3 of them) in between feedings?
I am trying to buy this "slow release food" but my local pet shop is on hols.
Might have to order it online.

Having never left mine before, I'm not too sure, but certainly if you can get the slow release food then, depending on what it is, 2 or 3 days maybe? The fish shouldn't starve to death within a few days though.

I think it'll depend on the type of food obviously

Cheers for that: I have been feeding them fish flakes (left by their owner), have not left them for more than 3 days. I have this nightmare that they may die in my care :excl:

I'm sure they will be fine. Just make sure the water is good chemical levelwise. Are the owners serious about them or are they just pets? How long are you looking after them for?

People think goldfish only live for a year or two because most people do not understand what they actually need.

Mine are now 4 and are lovely big things!

He he, RM, my pals knows he left 3 goldfish in my care (and several plants too, the plants don't need daily visits with this rain, just as well).
MDB: I've been told tank is gonna be ok until owner comes back. He had the fish for many years. Normally he asks me to take care of the plants, his brother to take care of the fish.
Guess this year the brother is busy
The thing is that he might stay abroad for more than a couple of weeks. I shall get the slow release fish food for sure, because when I am back at work I might not have the time to go feed them.
I do not mind taking care of other people's plants, but when he said "fish" I went:

Goldfish are probably the most abused animals out there due to sheer ignorance.

I'm sure you'll be fine though Pat.

All pets should be the outdoor type, like BigCat, no human about to feed him? He just goes catches himself a mouse for dinner!

It sounds like they will be in good hands then and if you have any questions, please let us know!
