More Titanium. Fixings that is. Race spec; drilled now. Because the standard ones are so yesterday 🙄

For £10 bought a used Planet X carbon fibre fork for my road bike from our local bike recycling shop. The original steel thing weighed a ton. I managed to drill out the rusty seized brake back nut and my local bike shop took their grinder to the rusted on crown race after their £300 Park tool failed to pull it. Worth every penny of the fiver they charged me. I like the idea of installing a troubled, used carbon fork to a bike whose theme is blackness, death and the occult. If the fork fails and I die you may conclude that i brought it upon myself. It looks really good though, and it rides very nicely. Slightly shorter from headset to axle and a little less offset.

I picked up this 13 Bikes Intuition Beta earlier this afternoon. It's had a top RH front impact, breaking the RH shifter and scraping the bars / LH shifter plus a bit on the frame. No seatpost / saddle.

Cleaned up and checked over so far. The rear wheel's a bit out of true, which will be a pain as it's built into the rim. Everything works bar the RH shifting mechanism but it'll probably be parted out.

Edit: threw some pedals on, plus a seatpost and saddle for a short test. Given it's hardly been used the brakes are genuinely atrocious, which now doesn't surprise me that it was in a crash. Just how did Halfords think they could sell this for £1400 with TRP aero/underslung time trial brakes? The above link mentions very poor braking; I tried them and simply sailed on without any measurable response.

Popped into a second hand/ discount clothing store for a quick browse and picked up what looks like a brand new long sleeve jersey for £10 , seen the ss version on amazon for around £30

Carradice Cambrian saddlebag to replace my 20 year old barley which was has a broken fastening strap. The Cambrian is advertised at 9L but has a huge internal collar and a double length lid meaning it can expand to double that size. This was a surprise as I had paid for the simple MK1 version but ended up with an upgrade from SJS.

I did wonder what happened to 13 bikes, they only seemed to last one season before they disappeared off the shelves.

Wasn't there rumours at the time that Boardman & Halfords were going to go their separate ways? I got the idea that 13 Bikes were being brought in as a replacement, but when the Halfords/Boardman alliance continued 13 were quietly dropped.

Edited to add that I had one of the 13 Hybrids for a while and it wasn't a bad piece of equipment.
