Put some Schwalbe G one tubeless on the elan. They are 35 mm and slightly knobbly for winter roads and give a bit more space under the guards than the 38 mm gravelkings which are fairly slick now. The gravelkings gave me lots of problems when tubeless but have been quite happy for the last 18 months with tubes in them. Also managed to repair a dented rim which had been irritating me.

This was during the week, but still...

Trying to find what is wrong with this Nexus hub...

I reckon it would work a lot better if you put all of those pieces back together! :okay:

You have come to the heart of the matter right there: when reassembled, the b*gg*r wouldn't work properly.

I'm not able to invest any more time in the thing so it had been taken over by a client, who is a former marine engineer and far more capable with these things than I will ever be.

Whenever I try to fix something complicated, I always seem to find one part left over after reassembling it!

I’ve been running those 35mm G-ones with mudguards this last month or so. Very happy with the grip on broken, wet roads and comfy at around 45psi. Ive been much more confident and not noticed extra drag.

Good to hear. I was getting leaf debris gunging the mudguard on the 38mm gravelking tyres this last autumn and rear wheel slippage on leafy climbs. I’ll try them at 45 psi as you suggest, I usually head to 50 psi, so will experiment. They were quite tight to fit on the kinlin rims but perhaps as a result they jumped onto the bead first time.
