Recabled inner and outer brake on the commuter bike and tried to true the wheels but it is that windy that the bike was wobbling about so i gave up on that .

I’ve found there’s quite a wide range of pressures I can run without impacting handling or average speed

It is more comfort vs snakebite risk for me!

I lowered the pressures on my 6-speed bike to 5.0 bar today. That has slightly narrower tyres than my new GP 5000s. The tyres felt more comfortable than using my usual ~6.0 bar, but I felt that maybe they needed a bit more stiffness on the bigger bumps. I will try 5.25 bar next time.

Overhauled a 43 years-old Suntour ARX GT (underrated!) & while waiting for the parts to dry in the sun, redid the bearings on a Shimano Dynamo hub - it is possible re drive side too, after careful dismantling of the connector system.
Afterwards, checked for bearing adjustment & that it is still powering lights ok.

Meanwhile, maybe the ARX is ready for another 43 years - the demise of Maeda remains a painful story.

My heels were hitting my saddlebags I put on this Dahon bike I just got, so I made some aluminum extensions to get the bags 4 inches higher and one inch back so now there is enough clearance for my feet when pedaling.

That is possible. I will be keeping an eye on it and if it does i will seek a better solution.

I love my Rohloff hubs, for years I have been using one in my road bike with Jones H loop bars and the standard Rohloff twist shifter, last year I injured my shoulder and being 67 years old it has never fully recovered and I was just finding the width of the Jones bars was irritating it. So I decided to fit some narrower drop bars (don't worry I am not doing any UCI events ) , I bought the CoMotion twist shifter for 31.8mm bars and fitted it at the weekend - since it has larger diameter barrel the shifting is even easier than with the Rohloff , the cable run is better as well, although I have left them a little long so I can experiment with them, being push-pull cables the cable friction is twice normal so you have to watch out for tight bends as the friction escalates very quickly - watch this space for fine tuning!

The do do the do, don’t they? I run VX on the Galaxy. It will lift at least 14t difference on the front, and up to 36t on the back.

Indexed gears. Bike has Di2 so rarely needs much attention but I had the return of the creak which was down to rear quick release. By reseating rear wheel it must have affected indexing. Anyway, quick adjustment and seems good on stand. Will check next ride

Rohloff CoMotion update: sometimes I am astounded by my own stupidity! I wasn't happy with the routing of the front brake cable which I brought out part way along the bar tape to avoid the shifter. Last night I thought - anyone making such a terrific piece of engineering must've thought about brake cable routing and sure enough there is a cutout in the shifter body to accomodate the cable. 30 minutes work, a new cable as the existing one was too short, and the installation is much better!

It was actually last night. For most of Sunday's 158miler I only had 3-4 gears. I found out why when I went for a diagnosis lap, the gear cable was about to snap. So I replaced it last night.

A quick trip to SJS to collect a bar-end lever to replace the malfunctioning one on my Hallett. I also replaced the inner and outer cable and, of course, had to retape the bars. Gave the drive-chain a clean.
Unboxed E's new Sabbath and fitted the front mudguard and dynamo wheel. Bent a light-bracket to fit and added a B&M light. Swapped the pedals and saddle from her old bike to the new one.

Today I finally got around to changing the chain rings on my old Galaxy.
I need lower gearing these days. So I've gone from an ancient 54/42, to a more manageable 48/38.

How i toured on that gearing years ago gives me a headache thinking about it.🤔

I went with 48/34, and a 14-32 block.
