deglazed brake pads and cleaned rotors
The pads on my replacement front brake (see a couple of posts back) were not biting as well as they should have on my test ride this afternoon. I am sure that the rotor is fine because there was no problem with the previous front brake and I have not gone near the rotor with any contaminants.

I will try doing some heavy front wheel braking on (safe!) long fast descents to see if that improves brake efficiency. I do have spare pads available if needed.

just ordered a new disc for the back as it was warped pretty badly, its a commuter and i do have a steep descent so maybe the rack and panniers give it extra load and heat,

Swapped out the cable adjuster at the lever for the front brake on the hack. It’s been somewhat malformed (though functioning) since it went on the bars, but it’s what I had at the time.

Several bikes are currently in varying states of repair. A rather nice MTB is almost done and waiting for mudguards and a luggage rack, A lovely, near mint condition trekking bike is waiting for the correct Magura brake blocks; I've got a Gudereit city bike somewhere that needs checking, and yesterday we received a BB which I mounted on a city bike. Of course, after I'd finished, I realised I'd not put the chain guard holder on first, so guess what I'll be doing this morning...
