New bike day for me today so spent my entire lunch break fettling. Garmin mount, mudguards, bell and lights fitted, flipchip swapped round and brakes adjusted again. Ran out of lunch hour to get bottle cages on, so I’ll sort that in the morning hopefully before a short test ride. Weather was too grim for a first ride today, and this was my first new bike since 2018 😮

Tada! In its natural habitat! This morning its natural habitat was by the side of the road, trying to stop the bastard mudguards rubbing. Also the seatpost is a pain in the arse to adjust with a multi tool and the gears weren’t set up right, but that’s probably my fault.

I’m recovering from reactive arthritis so there was no chance of a proper ride anyway so a short fettle was good enough for this morning, need to order some proper mudguards though, clip ons were a bad idea.

This is my first GRX bike, is there any cable adjusters anywhere? I can’t see how to index the gears, luckily they came ok but it won’t last.

Not sure if counts as fettling but anyway. A new hose/head arived for track pump so fitted that and tried it out and despite not being correct size hose, I got it on and it works a treat. So for £5 I've revived my track pump which I'd given up on as couldn't get original spares.

Also, the Tyre Glider I ordered I tried out and it works brilliantly. Can't recommend enough. Late to the party of course as been out years but so much better than regular tyre levers.

Sadly I spent so much time fettling I didn’t manage to take any pics! Will try in the morning, it’s very black!

There should be one on the rear mech where the cable enters(item 11);

The front is a bit trickier as it's adjusted with a small hex nut where the cable is clamped.

This is the parts diagram for an 810 mech but it's mostly the same for all newer front mechs (adjust screw is no 2); I think some older and lower spec ones are slightly different.

Hope this helps :smile:

Awesome thank you, I wasn’t sure about the rear, much slicker looking than any Shimano mech I’ve seen before. I’d assumed the front mech just wouldn’t have one so this is a happy bonus.
