Im taking a water bottle off one bike and putting it on the commuter for tomorrow as its forecast 32 C for my homeward bound commute .I know its only 10 miles but i would rather have one just in case .

Did front brake as pad spring was contacting rotor. Just a case of taking pads and spring out, then putting back taking more care spring was properly in place. Peace and quiet again.

Lol, at some point this morning, I woke up and decided to wipe down re drip wax my chain

Did some changes on the footbike: Replaced stem, handlebar (and shortened the handlebar), grips and bell. Regarding to handlebar and stem it didn't bring the expected change (in particular: lower grip position). On the other hand: That alone saved roughly 450g of weight.
Cleaned and lubed the head set.
Swapped the brake pads from standard Shimano to Kool Stop black and salmon. Definitely better.
Swapped tyres and inner tubes. The new Continental Contact Urban with TPU inner tubes are way more supple and faster than the old Schwalbe Marathon Supreme with butyl inner tubes. It's lighter, too - saved another 250g.
To prevent further eye sore I replaced the neon yellow bottle cage with a reserved black one.

Prepped the Ridgeback Platinum for tomorrow's Llanfair 400 audax. The fitness and mileage aren't there currently, so I'll be riding steadily hoping for muscle and route memory to get me round.

Prepped the Ridgeback Platinum for tomorrow's Llanfair 400 audax. The fitness and mileage aren't there currently, so I'll be riding steadily hoping for muscle and route memory to get me round.

Have not ridden that for a few years. A good outing with varied terrain and views.

That optional Halkyn Mountain climb area looks interesting, with ~900 feet climb from around Bagillt, much closer to the Dee estruary mouth than I've ridden when visiting family near Prestatyn.
