Have you had it properly looked at, preferably by a specialist...although it may just need time, it could also turn nasty

Physio may help, also self massage (although that can be painful if done well)

I was knocked off my bike by someone I was riding with last August. It was an accident we can't really explain. After 10 days and 130 miles of riding I had my elbow x-rayed and found it was broken.
It's not mending as it is, so last week on medical advise decided to leave it broken rather than have it operated on.

So, is it going to stay like that always, or will it mend 'eventually'?

Does it affect you doing anything?

Broken collar bone 4 weeks ago. Healing well.

My advice for the healing of broken bones quickly:
Do not:
Take Anti-Inflammatories ie Ibruprofen (inflamation whilst painful is for a reason - your bodies way of getting blood to the scene quick)
Drink coffee (proven to slow the meshing process)
Smoking (obvious I would hope)

Do:
Eat lots of food containing
Iron
Protein
Vitamins B & C
Drink lots of water

It will stay how it is ( in theory) though I expect my next off will displace it and send me to A&E.
I can do everything except very heavy lifting.
That x-Ray was after 8 months and it looked just like the first.
I'm going to buy mountain bike elbow pads to protect it.

Sadly, I'm a man and it's well known that men never go to the doctor when they should, so... ;)

I'll leave a response to the less classy amongst us

But seriously, I spoke to the pharmacist who said it would just take time, my friend's fiancé in a dermatologist and also reckons 6-8weeks. It's not painful or gloopy. Just a Tom and Jerry style lump!

Appreciate the concern.

No worries. I picked up a haematoma on my knee at the beginning of December. Had 10 days of antibiotics (after the post accident infection and surgery, I was worried to say the least). I still have a lump which is tender and discoloured. At my healing speed, 6-8 weeks would be ambitious!
