What other hobbies and interests do you have?

Barn conversion. Since my redundancy in 2005. It's quite challenging, today I was making a window opening 4m above the ground. I have a couple of 'needles' through the wall supporting tonnes of stone as if by magic. I try not to think of it.

Never fear asterix- the only bit of the wall being supported over the opening is the 45 deg triangle of stone immediately above the opening above which the wall forms it's own relieving arch.

[Edit: but always get it checked by your friendly engineer......]

Reading, cooking, golf, skiing (downhill and cross-country), watching cricket whenever I can (stopped played for good 7 years ago and miss it terribly), and want to start learning to play any of the six musical instruments I've had for years, before too long.

Also at the starting stage of learning to paint: oils, water colours, acrilyc.

When not working or cycling i like to Fish, Trout, Salmon and Pike , tie my own flies . Go to the Gym mostly spinning, weights and Boxing
. Also enjoy watching my son play football for his Boys Club. Used to coach an under 8s-- 7 a side team but had to give it up due to work commitments.

Playing the bagpipes

Singing - acapella 16th Century church music (Byrd, Tallis, Palestrina and so on)
Singing - acapella 20th Century church music - (Arvo Part, Herbert Howells etc)
Singing - "proper" folk songs and sea chanties

Oh - and hill walking, of course. Preferably high up hills, such as Snowdon, Lakes.
