The one and only film I ever abandoned. Lady Chatterly's Lover Circa 1981. Shatterly's more like. I thought I'd give me some soft porn to put in the w@nk bank but it was just too dire to tolerate even in the hope of seeing a soft focus nipple slip.
To add insult to injury, as I was making my way out of the deserted foyer the usher starts shouting at me - I'd wandered over to the Asteroids machine and, having no coins decided not to play it. She starts shouting to a WPC who'd wandered past the front door to come here - 'Look! He's vandalized it!' I'm like 'No I haven't! What the hell are you talking about'?? 'Well look at it, that trim's been pulled off'. And I'm looking at the WPC as if to say - this woman is a farking mental. So I says to her, loud and clear: 'Did you see me vandalize it? and she's like 'Well it wasn't vandalized earlier, and you've just been near it... 'Did. You. See. Me. Vandalize. The. Machine?!? NO. So shut up.' I turned to the WPC. 'Are you going to arrest me?' 'Nope' she said, And I walked.

Stupid woman. Not her, the usher.

ABC in Hereford before they ripped it down to make a Top Shop or something.

The first film I saw at the cinema was 'The Amazing Mr Blunden' at the cinema in Thirsk, must have been mid 70's. But that was with my mum, my older brother and one or two cousins, so doesn't count.

The first film I watched alone (with mate - without mum) was Mad Max 2 - early 1982 and I was - a, 14 years old, b, underage, c, not asked to prove age, d, skint, as we went there after the pub......

The Dam Busters sticks out as one of the earliest films I saw, I'd be 4 at the time, but I was a regular cinema goer long before then, my parents took me nearly every week even as a baby.

Double bill, "Bambi" and "The Sword in the Stone"...I think I was about 4 at the Palladium, Durham. Sadly, like so many old cinemas with the advent of television it ended up firstly as a bingo hall, then derelict.

My 1st film(s) - yes, it was so looonnggg ago it was in the days where they actually showed 2 features for the price of admission - not a "feature" of adverts!! - was Spider Man (the one with the white ropes before CGI) and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (with the plasticine models)

me aswell ,think it must of been around 76 but not sure

Emmannuelle - I was under age, embarrassed, flustered then bored and at a total loss as to whether or not to leave and let my mate enjoy the film at least I think his panting was an indication that he was enjoying it and not having a coronary.
