Which curry house?

This is my current Coventry favourite - my old one changed hands and then lasted barely a year.

Various restaurants and cafes in Southall.
The Taj Mahal, under the walls of Reading gaol, in the early 70s. Went there most weeks with a Sri Lankan friend and we were treated as friends.
A tiny Moslem restaurant in Columbo in 2002. A two-course fish curry with as much tea as we could drink, all for approx 20p for both of us. The food in Sri Lanka was always very good.

Is lamb tagine a curry? if so then at a mates house in Maidstone about two years ago...probably ...no definitely one of the finest meals I've ever enjoyed...company was awesome too.

I'm not a wine expert but it was served with a red that tasted just like the meal and was a perfect match...glorious.

no , the clue is in the name ;)

i do however agree that a good tagine is also mighty fine.

At my Grandmother's. It was always a beef curry and like a feast with lots of little patterned side dishes with matching flat bottomed spoons. As children we used to love filling the dishes and arranging them on the table. She'd been in Singapore when my Grandfather was stationed there.

A takeaway curry my sister brought in when I was down visiting for the weekend :hungry:
The Shahbaaz in Aberdeen is usually pretty good for "curry night" (Friday).

I'm surprise that no-one has mentioned Vesta curries.

In the 60s my mother, who had been an excellent cook, discovered ready-meals. Vesta curries featured. I remember the surprise when I first tasted a real curry.
