Same "Riding".< Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Although when I was born, the People's Republic of South Yorkshire didn't exist. Most of Sheffield was in the old West Riding of Yorkshire (bits were in Derbyshire) - not to be confused with the modern 'West Yorkshire', which ain't the same thing. In fact Sheffield and Leeds were in the same county when I hatched; now one is in SY, the other in WY...

Anyway Leeds or any city in Yorkshire ain't the capitol of the north, that'll be Manchester, was Liverpool though they lost years back

Spent my early years in rural Norfolk, then my dad got a job in London and we moved there and I'm no townie, so still haven't forgiven him! Then I lived in Wales for a few years which I loved and now back in East Anglia- so all over the place really, but Norfolk always feels like home to me.

I have met many people from Yorkshire. I've probably met many people from other places. But the ones from Yorkshire let me know where they were from. They made a point of telling me * Insecure wazzocks.

I used to live in Roundhay, I have nephews and nieces who were born and spent their entire lives in the area. Fortunately they didn't seem to aquire the misplaced arrogance gene that some from that part of the world seem to have.Yer only jealous son
