I like that last paragraph where the hairdresser had to abandon a perm due to the fire.

Reminded of this earlier this week when asked to give a date for it.

I cant remeber much from my late teens to mid 30's..
i dont remember that fire..i remember Bradford..

Stressed out at work ... I started in autumn 1986, and by early 1987 I was already close to the edge that I finally fell over in 2003!

That mill fire looked horrid, but spectacular.

About 18 still at work, in the building, when it was started.
 
I am sorry to hear that.
My wife and I were living in a different house in Chippenham getting things ready for Easter for our 2 youngsters, blissfully unaware that by the end of the next month both of her parents would die within a week of one another. 1988 was a better year.

27 years old and living / working in Manchester.......... Herald of Free Enterprise earlier that month. I'm from Hull and there was a regular Hull-Zeebrugge service but not with that ship.
