I know a bloke who's had a film made about him, but he's not famous... does that count?
He had a really beautiful girlfriend when I briefly (and very unsuccessfully) shared a flat with him in the Straits' Deptford days. I fancied her something rotten.Ditto. I also once found myself standing alongside his brother, David, peeing into a hedge at a party.
@jhawkShaun Murphy. Former Snooker World Champion in 2005.
I played against him that day. He thrashed me, although I did pot a very long pink with a thump... That felt brilliant.
I was an avid snooker player, and my Mum had arranged our meeting for me for my 11th birthday... It was to be her parting gift to me, as she died in September the following year. An amazing morning at Riley's snooker hall in WSM. I believe I was in the paper at the time that it happened. I've been trying to find something regarding the story for years!
You played for Thunder Saluki.I met Mark Knopfler when I was a dizzy, I met Eric Clapton when he was staying at Mark Knopfler's place, also when I was a dizzy.
Lionel Blair - who was a charming man, really nice.
Mike Burrows - often as he scared the living daylights out of my horses, passing them in his various recumbents. Also he knew my Dad.
Emerson Fitapaldi - He knew my Dad
Colin Chapman - ditto in the Dad department
Various racing drivers who drove for Lotus back in the JPS days.
I used to go running with Duncan Forbes (he was mates with my Dad)
I lived 2 doors down from Kevin Keelan
Martin Peters used to live around the corner.
Served Roy Hudd in a pub, Melvin Hayes in the same pub (the were both a bit rude to us hardworking staff actually)
Princess Anne (as a 3 day event rider)
Caroline Bradley (showjumper)
Harvey Smith (ditto)
Graham Fletcher (ditto)
Jenny Lauriston-Clarke (dressage champion)
Jane Holderness-Rodham (3 day event rider)
Lucinda Green nee Prior-Palmer (another 3 day event rider)
Adam Ant - it was an accident.
Rory McGrath who was lovely
Sandi Toksvig. I passed out at her feet. It was a hot day. She was very nice about it
All the Time Team team. I worked on a few digs for them
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall
Harry James (real name Gary James) Played for Thunder, Magnum and Snakecharmer. I still have one of his drumsticks![]()
You played for Thunder Saluki.

At a gig ?
Guitar ?
Drums ?
I need to know more, pretty please.
...
Oh right, thanks.I think it's Harry James that played for Thunder... unless @Saluki is Harry James! I've never seen them in the same room together.
Very annoying. I delivered some printing to Avalon TV back in the 90s. Was walking through the corridor and pretty much literally bumped in Frank Skinner. My brain didn't quick twig but I knew who he was so I just thought he was a friend. I said "Hi mate", he replied, "Hi mate"...probably thinking the same thing! Wish I'd had a quick chat as I think he's brilliant.
Through work met a few famous people and once stood in a lift with Dennis Taylor and we had a 30s chat about watching him live at The Crucible - was opnly a 1/4 final game but he remembered it and was appreciated.
