The future was Supercar and fireball XL5
What amuses me was the idea of the "future"........
UFO was set in 1980
Space: 1999... you can probably work out for yourself
Yep but I thought they were crap, give me 'The Clangers' or 'The Herb Garden' any day.
I know of the woodentops but don't remember ever seeing them on TV.
The Clangers and The Magic Roundabout undabout were my early childhood memories.
My fading memory branes say it was called "The Herbs", not "The Herb Garden".The Herb Garden I loved it. Parsley the Lion was my favourite.
I remember them, but the first programm I ever saw was Tug Boat Annie on my my aunts telly, anyone remember that?
In my defence I was 6 when it was my favourite programme. My fading memory branes say it was called "The Herbs", not "The Herb Garden".
<fx: furious googling>
Boom! Yes, I'm right.

Didn't watch any 'children's programmes' after 1973 as I had my job as a 'Co-op Delivery Boy' on a bike after school so didn't finish that til 6pm.The original programmes had a loyal following and there was concern when it was learned that they would be replaced by new programmes, as in 1965 when it was thought that Camberwick Green would replace Andy Pandy and Flower Pot Men. Eventually the new programmes were added, including: Tales of the Riverbank, Pogles' Wood, The Herbs, Joe, the Trumptonshire trilogy, Barnaby, Mr Benn, Bagpuss, Fingerbobs, Bod and Bizzy Lizzy.
- Picture Book – Mondays from 1955
- Andy Pandy – Tuesdays from 1950
- Flower Pot Men – Wednesdays from 1952
- Rag, Tag and Bobtail – Thursdays from 1953
- The Woodentops – Fridays from 1955
Not good enough I'm afraid!
We used to watch repeats of 'The Herbs' some time in the '90s whilst being home from School for lunch. I probably wouldn't really know of them otherwise.
