I've started using my wallet again just recently.
I used keep my debit card, driver's license ect in my phone case.It had has those wallet type pockets in it to slide them in.
The reason why I've started using my wallet again is because if my phone were to be stolen or misplaced all my cards would of gone with it leaving me with no money or phone. As I only have a mobile phone to call the outside world (no landline) trying to cancel my cards immediately would become a problem.
Keeping them separate just eases any hassle be not keeping all your "eggs in the same basket"

I think it is the modern idea that if you go out, and something happens; what will you do without a phone? 😱 But truth is, “something happening that incapacitates you” and “No one around to help” are extremely rare combinations. In fact you are better off having a wallet on you with your details, a person to contact, and any medication needs.

Meanwhile the zombies and out and about.

well in theory if the absolute worse happened, they can later on triangulate your phone location and work out where you were, it has helped in missing person cases.

Ive lost and broken more phones than Ive ever lost or had stolen purses, so no my entire life is not stored on my phone, and I carry around cash/coins/cards in the purse instead.

I've carried a wallet every day for over 50 years, with the exception of a few days after I lost one on holiday, and didn't buy another until I got home.

The first one used to be my grandad's, and lasted until 1984. The replacement was from Debenhams, and lasted a few weeks until I lost it, then got replaced with another one the same. That one got pensioned off about 20 years ago, when I bought the one I have now from Marks & Sparks.

Yes, it's entirely prudent to keep things in more than one location, be it wallet, phone or elsewhere.

Anybody who doesn't do this is a fool, and that's coming from someone wth brain damage too!

A nylon one for me, leather goes all manky given the climate

Some cash and odd bits of paper, no bank cards. Most payments now done by Mrs Crank with her phone app.

Like @Mo1959 I have one but it sits in a drawer. I has some cash and my various cards.
Most of the times I go out I just have a CC and a DC (in case the CC fails for some reason.
I carried a wallet in my rear pants pocket for 65ish years but its been made redundant.

Yep, I have a wallet and it goes most places, but not when I'm cycling because I carry enough junk.
After Storm Arwen left the district without power of over a week I can't imagine ever trusting everything to my phone.

I carry cards and a couple of bank notes in mine. Much lighter than a phone, which is especially good when cycling. I’d rather carry a small toolkit than a phone, and rescue myself rather than call for help.

I have a Monogrammed wallet that was given to me by the company that I worked for. It has lain in a drawer unused for a couple of decades. The wallet I carry is a compact leather one with a couple of internal card slots and an external slot where I keep my bus pass. It's a Small hand made wallet from " Yorkshire Leather Design "
I decided on a compact wallet as otherwise I would fill it with crap.
My wallet also contains a folded one Punt note tucked away at the very bottom, a charm to ensure that I will never be short of money 🍀

I have 2 wallets. Everyday large wallet containing credit card, my commonly used loyalty cards, a bit of loose change (for charity tins, pound coin for the trolley etc), a bit of folding money (that generally gets used for slipping a tenner to a niece or nephew on birthdays and such). Then a lightweight wallet for when i'm out on my bike or doing some other activity into which i transfer my credit card, and a note for emergencies (such as a tearoom whose card machine is down!).

I stopped using leather wallets as found they eventually deteriorate and become smelly in a warm pocket, and have returned to the canvas and rippy velcro wallets of my youth. Nostalgic and comforting.

Relying on my phone with no redundancy doesn't compute to my brain (is it being sensible, autism, OCD, or just stuck in my ways!?) . oh to be one of these laissez faire people who can travel through the world "naked" without a care!

I wonder if theres a correlation between those who don't have wallets and venture out on bike rides without pump, tube, tools etc, that I occasionally have to rescue with the content of my huge saddle bag that i lug around.

I have a wallet, for cards and folding cash, and a small pouch for coins.

While I use cards or my phone to pay for most things, I do still use cash occasionally, and I haven't got all of my loyalty cards/membership cards on my phone.

I have a wallet for cards mostly, at the moment there's two five pound notes in it, they'll be there for a long time.

Which cards you might ask? Nectar card for scanning at the petrol station, driving license, bank debit card, and a Cycling UK card.
Do I use my phone for payments? No, I spend far too much time in bits of the country that have no mobile service whatsoever, often in Wales, and I'm quite prone to dropping and smashing phones, usually when prizing the stupid thing out of my pocket.

Filling stations are one of the few places I still use the physical card, because most won't allow contactless if you want to pay at pump.

But that will be much less frequent from today onwards

I don't carry a wallet when I'm on my bike, but I do have an "emergency" £20 note tucked into my phone case.

And I do carry pump, tools, spare tube (even though running tubeless at the moment) tubeless plugs.

Small wallet, big wallet.

The small one is my current on that holds eight cards and an emergency £10, it replaced the large Animal leather one that's around 30 years old and used to bulge with plastic and paper.

I've also got an Animal tri fold fabric and velcro job somewhere in the house.
