Why are so many other cyclists so unfriendly?

Rich P, you would say, "Hello," wouldn't you? What is going on around Rainy Sussex?!!:bicycle:
He sure would

Watch out!

Having recently taken up doing weekly long runs out into the countryside, I have to say my experience bears out yours. I make a point of at least nodding a hello at cyclists going t'other way, and I'd say that many more blank me than nod back. I think it's because they're serious cyclists, and serious cyclists don't waste time & effort being friendly. (That's how they show how serious they are.)

I only see a few cyclists on my commute, but I aways give a nod and a 'hello' if we're within earshot. Sometimes strike up a conversation until we go our separate ways.

This is a topic that is bought up often.

Who cares if someone doesn't say hello. It really doesn't matter. I only say hello to another cyclist if I can be arsed. Sometimes I do say hello, sometimes I don't. If someone says hello to me, sometimes I say hello back, sometimes I don't. I'm not fussed or bothered either way. Lifes too short to worry about such petty things

well is being 'not bothered' classed as unfriendly, I know down London people don't have time for that
