Out 15 miles yesterday on new bike - first half into wind then tail wind home and 40 mph down one of the hills. Made it all worthwhile!

Some guys on here have cleverly mapped out their rides to go with the wind and get the train or bus back home.

And the problem with that is ??? I have no aspirations to be Wiggins; I cycle for enjoyment, not punishment. At least I get out on my bike. Oh, and I avoid rain like the plague, too ^_^.

Left Mrs S having a lay in and all four children playing with their toys and rode one of my shorter routes (10 miles). Good to blow the cobwebbs away as I haven't been near the bike for nearly 2 weeks due manflu and Christmas preps. Felt great and did it in record time, weather sunny and not too cold. Plan on doing some longer rides this week if Mrs S does't object (too much).

New Years resolution is to get out on the bike (road or turbo) at least twice a week!

You would think 2 days of eating and drinking would be perfect preparation for a hilly training ride!!??

No, it's really not.

2 hours, 34 miles and 3000ft climbing later i can report - I have felt better. xx(
