And as a guest or visitor you could easily palm a steak knife in the restaurant.
Good chefs like to use their own knives, but even if they don't - they are still inside parliament house with knives, which I'm sure would cause a member of the public to be detained.Surely the kitchens have knives in them for the chefs to use?

i would say it often depends on what mood the officer is in when he talks to youI am willing to bet that many of us on here carry illegal knives - I know I do!

However when I poke to the local Police their advice was that carried as part of a tool kit in a container or pannier it would not result in a prosecution
