Winter hat

Looking to get myself a nice new winter hat for my early morning commute to work. Was looking at the Rapha winter hat but a little on the expensive side. Am I just being tight or are there any decent alternatives out there? Need ear protection.

I've an Altura skull cap, which worked well last winter and cost about £15

I am thinking about one of these to wear under helmet on cold days when just ear protection isn't enough

I've been lucky enough to pick up a few of the rapha winter hats over time in the sample sales and they are absolutely awesome, especially the newer merino knitted ones. So good I'd probably pay full price for one.
