I use the bike every day to commute to work and constantly get cold feet in the winter. I've invested in all makes of overshoes, but would like to try winter shoes. I've got about forty quid to spend in christmas vouchers at my LBS, do they work and will i need to spend more than this to get a good pair?

much much better than regular shoes and much better with the wet, no brainer if you have the money, I suffer with my toes and very rarely bother with overshoes in winter unless it's pouring

I've got Diadora Chillis, I can't recomend them especially, they're certainly not waterproof and they're not that warm and they're narrow, that said, I still wear them and they seem to have got better over time, especially with some merino socks

google around but £40 sounds hopeful without some sales
