Thanks 400bhp, I noticed some of them are windproof as well which might well be worth the extra. do you notice if they get too warm though once you've been out for a while?

No, I don't get too warm ( I had the same doubts as you).. These things will differ between individuals but they would generally be fine (for me) up to about 10 deg.

You might also consider - and look out for, Lidl's winter undergarments. Their tops and longs for a few quid are as good as you will get anywhere.

I have a pair of the Aldi compression leggings and I would guess they are similar to the Lidl ones.

I use them on very cold commutes. They are very warm but for me they are too constrictive for longer rides.

What's the sizing like on them? I've got a 5? series pair of XL bib tights and even though I'm fairly slim and short-legged-long-bodied, they seem a bit saggy around the crutch. I'd be concerned that 2fenders, who has the short-long proportions the other way round from me, might find the pad's keeping his knees warm.

I am 6'3 and jut under14 stone and they fit me fine. I got large and although there is a little sag around the mid section when seated, they are fine when standing. The leg length fits me well.

I bought some Biemme ones, windproof in the right areas and they have been fine riding in subzero conditions this winter and warmer upto maybe 8 or 10 degrees without overheating. Basically if you want to ride in mega cold conditions a mix of breathable and windproof panels is a must. Totally windproof and you would boil in the bag so various windproof panels in the right area is the way to go with a roubaix type material.

Sounds like wiggle might be worth a try as mentioned and they do an unpadded version of a roubaix bibtight, I could get a couple of different sizes to try and return them if the fit wasn't right.

I don't think Svendo is online now but I'd be interested to know what size he'd bought as their stuff looks ok too.
I think you're asking what size I have from wiggle? I've only had bibshorts from DHB (3 pairs over the years though) and medium fits me fine, but obviously I can't comment on leg length.
The Funkier Bibtights are also medium size.
