the Pogues! I did have a couple of their albums and it took me years to realise that being drunk and out of tune might be funny for one song, but not for a whole career. Dad, you were right!

My friend had a spare ticket to see The Smiths at the Gala in Norwich, 1982. August-ish. My word they were awful. I gave it about 40 minutes and went to the pub. Friend was in raptures, I was bored to tears.
Not as awful as Coldplay though

The Smith's are one of those bands that i hated at the time but quite like now... the 80's are like cheese and whiskey, they get better with age. (IMHO)
