It'd be in conceivable for me to throw away a perfectly good tube just because it had been punctured.
Touch wood, I don't get many nowadays but only usually give up when you get a puncture on or close to an existing patch. And even then, I've been known to peel off the old one and fit a new, bigger one.
Swollen stretched old tubes are usually the reason I'd throw one away.

Best bet is to repair one, leave it a couple of days then try and remove the patch.

You won't have any questions about it moving about after that!.

Amother vote for Halfords self adhesive patches.I usually swap for a new tube at the roadside then fix with patch at home.

If you want to become an expert at puncture repairs get some Lithion 2 tyres.

? No worse than any other tyre. Haven't had a problem with them.
