I enjoyed it as a child, then as an adult I enjoyed the pub and partying, but I am indifferent nowadays, its nice to see the grandchidren enjoying the far too many presents they have, and thats whats spoiled it, far too much commercialism, I am not religious but I think its a shame for those that are that their festival has been highjacked, this thread also highlights one of my pet hates, its Christmas, not xmas, not crimbo, not holiday season, etc.
Having read through my rant I realise that I still enjoy the pub, off out about 1400 to 1800 with our oldest friends.
And who watches the Queens speech? I don't think I have ever seen one, and who's worrying if Phillip will be home for Christmas? he went to a private hospital by helecoptor for treatment for pre existing condition, I hope he is OK but things need to be put in perspective, we got a call from the MIL the other week she lives alone, she's 96, she had fallen and couldn't get up, she managed to pull the phone onto the floor to call us, the wife rushed to her and called an ambulace as she couldn't move her, it was an hour before they came, with her lying there all that time, she didn't need hospital but was shaken up, if that had been Phillip do you think it would have been sorted quicker?
