If they are true to fact, there'll be a fair bit of "broad Yorkshire" being spoken. You could even learn a "foreign" language. In the comfort of your own home.

The local differentiation is definitely being lost. My mum was born in the 1920s and said when she was a lass, she could tell whether someone came from Marsden or Slaithwaite (pronounced slawit) as soon as they open'd their gob. The two villages are probably 5 miles apart at most.

No doubt about the regional variations being lost, along with a lot more besides.

My great grandmother was born in Earby(in 1889),which is now a guest of the red rose county,as you'll probably know. Her maiden name was Marsden. Is it a Yorkshire name i wonder?🤔

It is possible it actually originally appears in Lancashire
