Perhaps a hi-viz gilet with words "CCTV in operation" would be a good idea to deter nutcases and pyschos? Was thinking this afternoon of acquiring one of those orange flashing lights that tractors or bin lorries use and mounting it on a 4 foot pole and attaching it to my rack, seriously .

Or carry a Samaria sword on your back at all times? ;)

Most drivers didn't seem to take much noticed of my massive old ATC2000 camera, which was hardly subtle...probably wouldn't care too much for the gilet

Good luck with the report - but don't expect miracles! We all know about police indifference! Stopping right in front of you for no apparent reason - that's scary, even if he only did it to be mouthy. I've had that once or twice - makes a coward of me, makes me want to double back and run for it...

Incidentally I thought the grey car right at the start, before the RAB, passed mighty close, too. And then moved right across to the LH kerb. But you're the judge, you were on the spot.

Now that would get you a police escort straight to the cells and up before a magistrate later the same day or next morning . However kill or maim a cyclist then a dangerous driver will more than likely get or off.

I've been tempted to put 'Smile your on camera'

What a fool, glad he didn't use force as he looks like the type who might!

Surely you're not suggesting that drivers who try to kill people be executed, are you?
You are?
Fair enough, just checking

Jeesus... what a knobber that driver is. I'm glad I've never had that - i'd probably poo my nice clean bibs...
I hope it doesn't/hasn't breed/bred.

This might be worth taking to the Stop SMIDSY website of CTC. Their aim isn't just to counter SMIDSYs but also to monitor the authorities' response to incidents involving cyclists. They might also provide some backup if you need it. You don't have to be a CTC member.

That bridge is in my neck of the woods and I know that it's been the scene of several fatalities.

Spelling and grammar aside , you need to be careful with any wording you place about your camera. It could be argued that by advertising your camera, you might turn foul of the Data Protection act. Currently we are exempt under the recreation exemption. Display and warnings and you might, no longer be exempt....
