This was an omen today... after The (closed) Globe at Milverton, I stopped at three cafés, hoping for coffee and cake, and they had all closed slightly before I got there. I ended up dropping into the Co-op on the way home and having coffee and carrot cake in my back garden.

It's not currently open but I have seen developers sniffing about - they will probably get rid of the decades old sign. The Assheton family is the where a number of Lancashire towns called Ashton got there name (allegedly)
