I couldn't get down to it, because;
1. It was too steep/loose
2. The immediate waters edge was too muddy, I'd have been at the very least 'ankle-deep' in mud/water
3. I had Sidi CX/MTB SPD shoes on, & the soles were too stiff to conform to the terrain
