I "think" i had a Shrew yesterday evening. It was dusk and I can't be certain it was a Shrew as against a field mouse.
Not had either for a long time so im happy whichever it was.

I saw two parakeets in Trittiford Mill Park today. They were much bigger and brighter than the usual ones so I suspect they were recent escapees.

Mundane news: male Blackcap still filling its boots on sunflower hearts, small caterpillar seen through kitchen window twisting in the wind on a silken thread. There was a loud banging and crashing at the side of the house just after 10pm last night. Seems to be some afters following this incident. Two badgers, innocently mutual grooming at first, accompanied by extraordinary chittering noises.

Rapidly degenerated into attempted rape, or more likely assertion of dominance.

Followed by rapid pursuit down the garden and back again, which was when the bust up happened down the side of the house.

Hmm - think you're right! I'll get a GWE next time. I need a bigger lens (that was taken @ 600mm which is as far as I can go at the moment).

Thank goodness - I thought it was just me! [and I haven't seen many (GW)Egrets in the flesh, so I wasn't 100% sure ... ]

What mammal is that? It's got bits of hare, rabbit, deer ... if I knew the hawk's species that would give some scale ...

Hare and Buzzard is my guess.

Went to collect post and saw a Red Kite soaring.

I very much doubt the buzzard killed a hare that big. Good photo and a very good meal for the bird.
