I'm not great with butterflies, but I think it's a Holly Blue.

If you meant it's a blue butterfly that's small, you're correct.

I think your Holly blue looks more correct

Wild bees nest in or under a tree. They'd been there some time and the National Parks had put up warning sing as it was in a busy tourist spot (the waterfalls walk near Ystradfellte)

Just back from the Outer Hebrides.

The wildlife there is outstanding and some highlights for me included:

Short eared owl (loads)
Hen Harrier (male and female flying regularly within 10 metres of my digs)
Golden Eagle (several)
White tailed eagle (several)
Ringed Plover
Puffin
Red throated, Black throated and Great Northern divers (all within the space of an hour)
Cuckoo (juvenile - very close)
Red deer - loads
Gannet
Manx Shearwater
Guillemot
At least two species of dolphin (don't ask me what species!)
Seals aplenty

The great thing in the OH is that you don't really need to try to hard to see this stuff - it's all over the place.

Blackbird looking a bit miffed for some reason, and not just because I'd refused to feed him immediately.

Here's what he was looking at: Woodpigeon had taken over the Jobling Pyrex dish usually the preserve of Blackbirds alone for bathing, and didn't look like it was moving out anytime soon.

Wonder if Woodpigeon got inspiration from looking through the kitchen window and seeing our egg container?
